Dairy or Not

Dairy...

So many discussions online about whether or not one should consume dairy products. It's honestly overwhelming. After reading through studies and discussing the subject with members/clients, I came to find that there is no definitive answer to whether or not we SHOULD consume dairy products.

There was a study that showed "diet- and exercise-induced weight loss with higher protein and increased dairy product intakes promotes more favorable body composition changes in women characterized by greater total and visceral fat loss and lean mass gain." I'm not even going to lie here, I couldn't believe what I was reading! With so much false media about dairy products, It was tough to believe that dairy was actually helping some people lose weight!

That being said, I go back to my original point. You need to find out if your body can tolerate ingesting dairy products. Unfortunately for some it can cause a multitude of gastrointestinal issues, as well as causing skin and mental issues. These people need to avoid dairy as a whole, or move on to alternative options. THAT’S JUST THE WAY IT IS! I highly suggest finding out if your body is capable of tolerating dairy in order to see if:

1. Is it the cause of your current health / fitness issues?

2. Can you consume dairy and benefit from the many nutrients and probiotics it provides?

3. How much dairy and what kinds of dairy products can you consume?

SO take the test here to find out if you can consume dairy! You might be missing out on a vital piece of you fitness journey OR you can be seriously damaging your health.

*This area is extremely important. Many people think that because they are eating greek yogurt they are eating dairy free. When i n fact, greek yogurt is the most popular dairy product on the market. People that are lactose intolerant need to be careful when consuming greek yogurt and should look for a plant based alternative. Also, take note as to how many sugars and ADDED sugars are in your yogurt. Most of the time those account for all or almost all of the carbs in your serving.

I hope this post helps some of you!

Have a great day and thank you for reading!
